Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup- 260 calories/serving

recipe- split pea soup

Ingredients:
1 lb. dried green split peas, rinsed
1 meaty ham bone or 2 cups thick diced ham (ham hocks)
1 cup sliced carrots
1 cup chopped yellow onion
2 celery stalks
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 bay leaf
1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
salt and pepper to taste
6 cups chicken broth
6 sprigs FRESH thyme
2 Tablespoon worcestershire sauce
3 dashes tabasco
dash of milk

Layer all ingredients in slow cooker (in the order given). Do NOT stir ingredients. Cover and cook on high for 4-5 hours on high or 8-10 hours on low, until very soft and ham falls off the bone. Remove bay leaf
